OpendTect’s Machine Learning platform is developed for three types of geo-scientists:
- Operational,
- Experimental and
- Research.
Researchers can program new ML models in the Python side of the system. Experimental Geoscientists can develop new workflows and create examples for training ML models from scratch, or via transfer training and continued training.
Operational Geoscientists can select a pre-trained model from a library of trained models that is accessible to all users and apply the selected model. Within minutes a result is created that may otherwise takes months of re-processing at huge costs.
