Cluster Computing in Opendtect
At dGB Earth Sciences we're committed to staying ahead of the curve with cutting-edge technological advancements. Whether you’re working with an on-premises cluster or leveraging cloud-based solutions like Azure CycleCloud or AWS ParallelCluster, OpendTect can efficiently tap into your compute power for attribute calculations – from advanced Spectral Decomposition to our proprietary SteeringCube and unique attributes.
Attribute computation is efficiently streamlined: OpendTect automatically splits jobs into smaller chunks, submits them to your cluster scheduler, and merges the results seamlessly into a single output cube.
The best part is its zero dependency on any particular cluster management tool or the underlying architecture. That means it does not matter whether you are using SLURM, PBS or any other workload scheduler, all you need to tell OpendTect is the command (qsub, srun etc) to submit a job to the cluster and it takes care of everything from splitting and submitting the jobs to merging the final output.
