He has authored many papers covering a wide range of geophysical topics and co-authored a patent on seismic object detection. Together with Fred Aminzadeh Paul wrote a book on Soft Computing techniques in the Oil Industry. Paul holds MSc and PhD degrees in geophysics from Delft University of Technology.
Kristofer Tingdahl is CEO of dGB. He has a background in geoscientific software development. He joined dGB in 1998 as an intern working on steering algorithms. Kristofer continued to pursue a dGB sponsored PhD at Goteborg University, Sweden, focusing on object detection (faults and chimneys). During his PhD studies, he developed an attribute calculation engine and 3D visualization that formed the basis of OpendTect. He received his PhD degree in April 2004. From 2005 to 2011 Kristofer was based in Houston, first as senior OpendTect developer and later as Executive VP.
Bert Bril is co-founder and head R&D of dGB. Bert holds an MSc in geophysics from Utrecht University. He began his career in 1988 as an acquisition geophysicist with Delft Geophysical. He switched to software development in 1991 and worked for Jason Geosystems until 1992. Then he worked at the TNO Institute of Applied Geoscience before co-founding dGB in 1995. He currently focuses on special projects and supporting his software team as an internal consultant.
Case study department
Arnaud Huck works as a Senior Geoscientist for dGB since 2004. He quickly became indispensable in quantitative seismic studies, since he has extensive knowledge of GDI and Strata. He is involved in rock properties predictions, well simulations, impedance inversions, and AVO studies. Arnaud holds a MSc degree with honors in Geophysics from the School of Engineering Geophysics of Strasbourg.
Crépin Eric Bouanga joined the case study group of dGB Earth Sciences in 2006. He conducts exclusive, tailor made studies on behalf of national and international oil companies that cover enhancement & interpretation of seismic data, and seismic object detection by means of seismic attributes and neural networks (fluid migration history and seismic facies analyses). Furthermore, Eric is also in charge of software quality control, which ensures that OpendTect meets its quality goals and that dGB is able to produce stable and high quality products. Before joining dGB, Eric worked 3 years in marine seismic data acquisition for Schlumberger Geco-Prakla. Eric holds a Master of Science in Marine Geology from Moscow Oil and Gas Academy Gubkina.
Farrukh Qayyum joined dGB as a geoscientist in April 2008. He is involved in sequence stratigraphic interpretations, seismic object detection & interpretation studies. Before joining dGB, Farrukh worked as G&G Specialist for Schlumberger-SIS, Pakistan and before that he worked as a mud logger for Baker Hughes Inteq, Pakistan. Farrukh holds a M.Sc. in Geophysics and a M.Phil. with specialization in reservoir characterization and sequence stratigraphy from Quaid-i-Azam University, Islamabad, Pakistan.
Claire Pierard joined dGB in March 2011. She holds a MSc in Petroleum Geosciences from Heriot Watt University (2010) and a MSc from the School of Engineering Geophysics of Strasbourg (2009) . She has experience in seismic interpretation and reservoir characterization. She worked as an intern for Total and Cepsa.
Kristoffer Rimaila joined dGB in March 2011 as a geoscientist. He holds a M.Sc. (distinction) in geology from Åbo Akademi University. He has experience in structural geology and reservoir characterization. Kristoffer worked as an intern for Statoil in 2009 and 2010. At dGB he is involved in seismic interpretation work and special studies including but not limited to creating HorizonCubes, attribute analysis and sequence stratigraphic studies.
Hardeep Jaglan joined dGB in January 2012. He holds a M.Sc. in Exploration Geophysics from the University of Leeds (U.K). He is involved in reservoir characterization and rock property prediction studies. He has also worked for his Master's thesis at dGB, improving dip attribute calculations.
Software development department
Hélène Huck is a geo-scientific software developer with dGB since 2004. Amongst others, she completely reengineered the attribute engine, and programmed various functionalities to improve the user friendliness. Hélène studied engineering geophysics at Ecole et Observatoire des Sciences de la Terre in Strasbourg (France), and holds an MSc degree with distinction in Geophysics. She is now responsible for maintaining the attribute engine and involved in most of the new developments around attributes (multi-components, algos, viewers...) .
Jaap Glas joined dGB Earth Sciences in 2005 as a software developer for the OpendTect seismic interpretation package. He holds a M.Sc. degree, cum laude, in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam, and a Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Twente. The epicenter of his interest and expertise concerns multidimensional data processing. His primary contributions to OpendTect include the implementation of FaultStickSets, Faults and 2D Horizons, internal support for pen tablets, and the development of the Command Driver plugin.
Ding Zheng has worked more than 12 years in the R&D department of company Reson international and company Thales Geo-solution where he worked as a geo-marine researcher and software engineer. He joined dGB in November 2012 as a geo-scientific software developer. He holds a Ph.D degree in Geo-computer science in Geo information science and earth observation (ITC), the Netherlands and university of Vechta, Germany. He has also the background of photogrammetry, remote sensing and natural resource science.
