dGB Earth Sciences develops high-end seismic interpretation software and performs associated services such as software training, project consultancy and paid software development. We are the company behind OpendTect – the industry’s leading open-source seismic interpretation system and cutting-edge plugins for advanced workflows. Our strategy is to create value by developing and introducing the next generation of technologies. With offices in The Netherlands, USA, India and Brasil, and agents elsewhere dGB operates on a global scale. We are currently expanding and have immediate openings at our offices in Enschede, Houston and Mumbai.
Do you want to take on the challenge of starting seismic interpretation where E&P companies stop? Then, come join our case study team in Houston.
When international E&P companies cannot extract the sought after information from seismic data with conventional geophysical or geological techniques, they turn to dGB for the solution. This requires flexible and adaptive approaches, integrating various disciplines, going off the beaten track, while using the newest tools and techniques. You will get exposure to projects from around the globe, presenting an ever-changing set of challenges and opportunities.
Case studies cover the fields of quantitative interpretation (inversion, modeling, rock property prediction) and qualitative interpretation (seismic facies analysis, object detection, chimney interpretation, fault seal analysis, sequence stratigraphy).
Simultaneously, you will closely interact with dGB's software developers to ensure the development of new seismic software solutions that are beneficial for the whole seismic community.
The successful candidate is a dynamic, self-motivated person with BSc. or MSc. degree in geophysics or related subject. Excellent communication skills in English are required. Knowledge and experience of seismic interpretation using OpendTect is a plus.
